Dr Elena Rossi is an internationally recognized expert in applied artificial intelligence, data ethics, and scalable machine-learning systems, drawing on a strong academic foundation that includes a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh.

  • PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning) – University of Edinburgh
Dissertation: “Interpretable Neural Models for Complex Decision Systems”
  • MSc in Data Analytics – King’s College London
  • BSc in Computer Engineering – American University of Sharjah

With more than a decade of experience across emerging technology, financial systems, and public-sector digital transformation, Dr Elena focuses on helping organizations design AI that is both high-impact and human-centered. Her work spans AI governance frameworks, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation for enterprise and government applications.

  • Deciding if their team should keep refining an existing analytics solution or invest time and resources into exploring whether new models could offer better performance 
  • Assessing whether the time necessary to improve the performance of a project would cost more than the value that the additional performance would generate 
  • Assessing whether their team has the expertise to complete an upcoming project — if not, the CDS must determine whether any skills gaps can be filled by providing their staff with training or if it’s feasible to hire someone who holds the required skills 
  • Ensuring all insights created by a project can be understood by the non-data scientists who need to understand them, such as the CEO
  • Ensuring that company data is of high quality, secure and easily accessible. Develop and monitor policies, reduce data silos and work closely with IT and legal to ensure compliance.
  • Supporting data scientists in gaining valuable insights from data. Providing tools and processes to incorporate analytics into business decisions, planning and workflows.
  • Developing a company-wide roadmap on how to use data as a strategic asset. Promote data literacy across all teams and use KPIs such as sales growth, customer retention or conversion rates to monitor success.
